Yay! My sister made the first cut for pilot training at the Academy. Provided she can get a vision waver, she's one step closer to that C-140 slot (My sister is probably the only person at the Air Force Academy who wants to fly cargo planes or bombers rather than F-16s. Unlike all the other twenty-one-year-old pilot candidates, she's figured out that multi-engine crew planes lead to a lot more civilians jobs than fighters do).

Also, I finally saw the PotC II trailer today! Cannibals! Squidmen! Will and Lizzie kissing! Will proclaiming his sort-of-undying loyalty to Jack! My happy OT3 is back!

And did I mention the cannibals and squidmen? I don't care if this movie has a plot or not, I'll love it for that alone.

Isn't the trailer absolutely brilliant? Pirate! Cannibals! Squidmen! Questionable sexuality! Everything that makes a summer blockbuster great, all in one movie.

Why, why aren't there more movies with pirates, cannibals, and squidmen? Pirates/cannibals/squidmen should be an entire cinematic genre (Questionable sexuality, of course, is an entire cinematic genre, whether Western society as a whole wants to admit it or not).

See, this is why there need to be more comic-book movies- all of those things are staples of the genre. And questionable sexuality is virtually a prerequisite, at least for some titles.
