The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in a land of deep darkness, upon them hath the light shined.

Thou hast multiplied the nation, thou hast increased its joy; they rejoice before thee as with joy at the harvest, as people exult when dividing plunder.

For the yoke of their burden, and the staff across their shoulder, the rod of their oppressor, thou hast broken as on the day of Midian.

For all the boots of the tramping warriors and all the garments rolled in blood shall be burned as fuel for the fire.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

His authority shall grow continually, and there shall be endless peace for the throne of David and his kingdom. He will establish and uphold it with justice and with righteousness from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

--Isaiah 9:2-7

I love Christmas--it's one of the two times a year I allow myself to be obnoxiously, gleefully Christian (the other being Easter week--or any time I get to hear Handel's Messiah performed).

I got to sing at both services last night, the requisate holiday shouting, tears, and unpleasantness has already occurred, blown over, and been appologised for, the DVD player my sister and I got for our parents was a huge hit, and I have wonderful new Bath & Bodyworks stuff that smells like chocolate. Yay Jebus!
