watersword has written me a Mexico ficlet for my birthday--Sands angst, go check it out (edit: but be warned that it's friendslocked).

And yea! I've finally figured out what an evil villain could do in the Yukon in 1899-1900--sabotage the White Pass and Yukon Railroad, which was still in the process of being built then. The WPaY Railroad is damn cool, too. It's an international civil engineering landmark, like the Panama canal, and one of its bridges used to be the highest cantilevered bridge in the world.

It's just that now I have this intense desire to have Snidely Whiplash tie someone down across the tracks, despite the fact that Snidely and Dudley Do-right do not belong in this plot-bunny. Maybe I can work a railroad tracks scene in anyway.

Also, I have the song "Particle Man" stuck on "repeat" in my head, and it's all permetaform's fault.

Complete understanding here. I edit all of my fics for content before I show them to anyone in my family (me, the one who refuses to read abridged books or buy censored"edited" family friendly CDs from Walmart because I think abridging and censorship are evil). And some, I just never mention or show off at all.

Well, mini as in younger. Hey, I spent the first two years of college being referred to as "Chibi-Liz" because there was an upperclassman anime fan who was also named Liz (and was several inches shorter than me, but oh well).

Well, if I have to be someone's Mini-Me, you're not a bad choice. But I'm glad I got that worked out before going to England so I can avoid Cork County.

Actually, Cork's in Ireland (and they'd get all irked at being called English, too, since it's in the Republic of Ireland part), but it does sound like it could be in England.

I'm not in Cork anymore, though--now I'm back in Virginia for my last year of college. So the Mini-Me issues wouldn't pop up unless you dropped in on Roanoke valley.

Yeah, the evil Not!Snidely Whiplash wants to sabotage the WPaY and dynamite the pass to block access to the gold fields so that he can seize control of them as his first step to controlling the world's gold reserves. And I think at some point he's going to tie Tom Sawyer down on the railroad tracks next to a bundle of dynamite/in the path of an oncoming train. While fingering his moustache and sneering evily.

And then Mina will rip his throat out. Or maybe Nemo will shoot him with a harpoon gun. Whichever.

Now I just have to watch the movie a couple more times, do a bit more research on exactly how far construction had come in the fall of 1899, and start outlining things.

Check my lj, should have Crazy!Sirius going up today. Not canon, though, it's THAT AU where Sirius is paired with the OFC. *suffers pain and dies* But read it anyways, she's not in it. Indeed, Sirius gets this one completely to himself and his lack of sanity.

Plus, it could fit in with canon. If you wanted it to.
