Okay, all y'all who haven't seen Lawrence of Arabia need to go and see it now. This movie rocks. Watch it for Omar Sharif and Peter O'Toole. Watch it for Alec Guiness's brilliant performance as the wise and perceptive Prince Feisal and Anthony Quinn's equally entertaining performance as the impressively hook-nosed and avaricious Auda. Watch it for the camels--bet you never knew that camels can groan like people being tortured. Watch it for the impressive number of h/c setups. Watch it for the slash.
Yep, the slash. If I had a quarter for every time Ali and Lawrence looked as if they were flirting with each other, I'd be able to do laundry for the rest of the semester. Though actually, the slashy subtext is damn near to not being subtext at all--based on what I've heard/read about T.E. Lawrence, I think the film makers put it there on purpose (the scene with the creepy & predatory Turkish commander is really happened, right down to the bits that are only inplied).
Anyway, I'll just put it like this. the second this movie is over, you will run to the nearest computer terminal, go to google, and type "Lawrence of Arabia" and "fanfiction" (don't bother with ff.net. It is a site where, to quote Lawrence, "Nothing is written." I checked).
