Actually, I'm merely too busy writing a stupid ten-page paper on Jane Eyre to get involved--though I will say that I've always enjoyed reading both meta and rants. Any babble about why people write/read certain genres or pairings makes my inner borderline-OCD English Major happy.
I will further say that I come down firmly on the side of J/E/W and Jack/Black Pearl (the real PotC OTP)--but I see the slash vibes inherent in J/N, if not much potential for a happy ending (of course, little potential for a happy ending=much potential for massive angst). But since people on all sides of the argument are represented on my flist, I'm going to keep relatively silent and go write my bloody sodding bastard of a paper. And then launch myself into the three days of sleep deprivation, constant business, and borderline hazing that is Hollins University Ring Night.
By the time I once again have enough free time to browse LJ, I'm predicting this will all have blown over.
You know, "Gangsta's Paradise" is a pretty good El song.

Yes.
In that same vein, I keep wanting to vid "Damn it Feels Good to be a Gangsta" with Barbossa and Weatherby.

Been pondering about what I'm doing after the spin-off series. Aside from ripping off stuff for the polyficathon.

Well, yeah, that would be fun, but I actually wasn't thinking of the Mexican Mobster Crack when I labelled "Gangsta's Paradise" an El song--more about how he's been sucked so far into a life of violence and death that he'll never really be able to escape it. The Mob AU connection was just a nice, shiny bonus.

Amen. Swear to God, though--any man that makes bigass guns look that good...
