Today in History of Northern Ireland the professor gave a general outline of Northern Ireland during the 1930s and WWII. There was much writing of Mike's name and drawing of smiley faces in my notebook. (ex: "A substantial number of protestants volunteered to join the British armed services, as well as a small number of catholics/nationalists, some of whom may have simply been motivated by the prospect of employment after the ecconomic depression of the 30s. ^_^Mike!<3<3"). You know you've really become a geek when you start fangirling your own characters. *sighs This is probably a sign that I should resume working on Isle of the Apples. After all, if I do not finish it, I cannot pulish it, and if I do not publish it, I will never accidentally stumble across Mike/Dixie pilot!slash on the internet (or the disturbing Elspeth/Angharad twincest I fear I shall find instead).
More pondering on the Civil War X-Men AU (previous ponderings available in the post & comments here), mainly: Powers, to include or not to include?
I'm thinking I may leave them out if I ever do actually produce this thing, since things like Nightcrawler's physical mutations would be pretty hard to explain or hide in a Civil War-era setting. An element of the supernatural may still be included, however--perhaps Scott and Jean could still have some sort of psychic-type link. And then there's Dr. Essex. Since he's originally from the nineteenth century, it would be a shame not to utilize him somehow.

But yeah, that would be a fun fight. Gambit's artillery is going to blow poor Scott's command to hell at Fredericksburg.
