I've finished chapter ten of A Pirate's Life (trust me, the story's much better than the sucky title). At this rate, I may actually get it finished before I leave for Ireland. Or at least get through chapter twelve. First nine chapters are here. This last bit was rather angsty, with gratuitous amounts of character misery. I think I may have a penchant for stripping my favourite characters' shirts off and then beating them up in my longer fics. Did it in "Not All Scars are Visible" (though actually, I divided the shirtlessness and the bruises between Sirius and Snape there), did it in "Gravity," have now done it in "A Pirate's life."
I'm also working on the second scene of Pirates of Port Royal, the Gilbert & Sullivan/PotC fusion. Currently, I'm rewriting "When I was a Lad" so that it's about Norrington. Does anyone esle see the irony inherent in my changing that song so it's about a naval officer who actually deserved his commission?
