My money's on much of the Marvel fic being middle-of-the-road fanboy-style fanfic (decent plot, heavy on action, workman-like prose, not so great at character relationships or emotion, too much telling and not showing). It will, however, make a change from sappy Young Avengers yaoi (use of the term "yaoi" instead of "slash" very much deliberate).
Now I just have to overcome my trepidation (and fear of sucky Tony characterization and/or pairings that are not my OTPs) and read some.
Of course, being an utter hypocrite, I already went ahead and posted up my Marvel fic.

If I think of some other good Marvel fic over there, I'll let you know.
Is ff.net the best place to read this new fic of yours?

Oh my God, it's epic-length fic about B-list Spidey villains. *hugs fic to chest*

I was such a loyal reviewer that I even got mentioned in it! (In Chapter 32 - I'm the screaming fangirl...lol)
Just FYI: The writer, Max Landis, is actually John Landis' the director's son. He went by "Vank" for most of the fic and only switched to his real name near the end.

Yes, but those fics usually are Cap/Bucky fics, and I just can't get into that pairing. My brain is convinced that Bucky is Steve's little brother (of course, Tony and Maya also read like siblings to me, and they're knocking boots now, so my subtext meter isn't always reliable).
*have no icon with Winter Soldier, but do have one of Steve and Tony looking for Winter Soldier.
