We have gotten a letter from AirForceCadet!Sarah. She is (predictably) not having much fun at the moment, but is surviving. She's in the Executioners squad (hence the subject line--it's their motto), and now has one week of basic under her belt. And a butch haircut. Which she hates. On the plus side, though, they are eventually going to teach her how to use an M-16.
Also, close examination of a photo from X-2 in a recent issue of Wizard magazine has verified to my satisfaction that Trask's good-looking XO at the secret Alaskan base is in fact Methos from the show Highlander, as I thought when I saw the movie (and now you see the second reason for the subject line). Methos really seems to have a track record as the second lieutenant of evil. First Kronos, now Trask. This inspires all kinds of evil crossover plotbunnies that I am not going to write. *snickers* It would explain why Jean Grey keeps coming back from the dead, though. Someone should inform the super-villains that all they have to do is take her head.
In other news, my Dad and I are leaving at four tomorrow/this morning for the Athen, Ohio dirt track race. Another day of sunburn, engine noise, and dust awaits, followed by another article. And a long-arse truck ride.
