Yea Sarah! My sister's graduation was last night, so she is now officially a high school graduate. She has about three weeks to savour this fact before she ships out to Colorado for Air Force Academy boot camp.

The three of us (me, my Dad, my Mom, and my Grandmother) went to the Great Mills gym last night to watch the graduation (it looks a lot like the Hollins gym, actually, since both GMHS and Hollins University have green and gold as school colors). God, there were a lot of speeches, most of which were significantly longer than they had to be. Ruthie Moyle, the saludatorian, had a good speech (nice and short) but I swear the ceremony went on forever. Once they got to the actual graduation part, though, it was amazing how many people I recognized--I mean, most of them were people I hadn't seen in two years (and there were 300. 300! It was one of the largest classes ever to graduate from Great Mills). It was nice to see Sarah go up to get her diploma in her green robe and my National Honor Society tabard when they finally got to her name. As she pointed out, it's probably the only robe she'll ever wear, since Air Force Academy graduates wear uniforms.

I've finally finished the first two sections of my X-Ev fic (found here at ff.net) and am working on more, but I'll be taking a hiatus this weekend to go to a dirt track race in Ohio and write an article on that. Which I'm actually going to get paid for. *bounces gleefully* REviews are wonderful, but there's just something so satisfying about receiving actual money for writing.
