Last week, I was driving to the tire place on Great Mills road to get a new tire for the airport fuel truck (and by fuel truck, I mean deeply ghetto riding lawnmower with a giant gas tank attached to the back), when the tire on my minivan blew out. It was the scariest fucking thing ever--I thought I'd hit something, then realised that was impossible, since I was in the middle of an intersection. Luckily, I was about 1/4th of a mile from the tire place at that point, so I just drove real slowly the rest of the way there and bought myself a new tire, too (and had them put it on for me, so I could get back to work in under two hours).

And to think the only things I was worried about were getting rear ended and dying of heat stroke in my un-airconditioned car. The perils of driving a sucky vehicle in hot weather are manifold.
