Every now and then, (usually while going running or walking the 3-mile round trip to the Roanoke public library), I like to torture myself by planning out the creative projects I would do if I had the technology/ability/experience. My favourite topic of time-killing thought is, “Things-I-would-draw-if-only-I-had-more-artistic-ability-than-the-average-chimpanzee,” but if I started listing those, this entry would never end (illustrations for every fanfic and original fic I’ve ever written, illustrations for just about every other fic or novel I’ve ever read, portraits of countless original characters… The only reason I ever began writing in the first place is because, at heart, I’m essentially just a frustrated artist, who is forced to resort to fiction because she can see scenes in her head down to the tiniest detail, but can barely draw stick figures).
Anyway, like I said, listing all of the things I wish I could draw would take several gigabytes of computer space and all of livejournal’s bandwidth, so instead I’m going to babble about my second favourite time-killing topic, “fanvids-I-would-make-if-only-I-had-the-technology-and-knowledge-necessary-to-do-so.” Never underestimate the power of OCD—I have a couple of these things mentally planned out down to the last clip of footage. I just can’t make them.
The following vids cry out to God to be produced by somebody-or-other with DVD ripping and video editing software:
“Let the Bodies Hit the Floor,” by Eminem—Desperado/Once Upon a Time in Mexico (El and the Secret Underground Guild of Mariachi Pistoleros)
“Secret Agent Man,” by Johnny Rivers—OUaTiM (Agent Sands)
“Losing My Religion,” by R.E.M.—Trigun (Wolfwood, Wolfwood/Vash)
The following would be appropriate and sort of neat to do:
“Numb,” by Linkin Park—BtVS/Angel (Spike & Angel)
“Perfect,” by Simple Plan—LotR-mostly TTT:EE & RotK (Faramir, Boromir, & Denethor)
“Devil in Disguise,” by Elvis Presley—OuaTiM (Sands & Ajedrez)
The following only occurred to me because I’m on crack:
“Waterfalls,” by TLC—Tombstone (Doc/Kate, Wyatt, many people killing each other with guns)
