Who do they tinhat ship him with? LotR and J2 ended up with tinhats because in both cases the actors worked on the same project for years (and bandom I presume has them because of the whole making out on stage thing and also spending years working together).
And if it's not about RPS and "Noes! My OTP!" then I really don't get it, because while I can understand "Die for our ship" rage, non-RPS fan outrage and woe just seems... pointless. It's like when fangirls freak out upon learning that a hot actor is gay. "Oh no, my chance of ever dating a man who's never met me, probably will never meet me, and who's possibly fifteen years older than I am to boot has just gone from 0.00001% to zero!" I mean, I used to occasionally think that it would be cool to marry Prince William and become Queen Elizabeth III of England when I was in elementary school and found out that the future king of England was the same age as I was, but I also knew even when I was eight that that was about as likely to actually happen as winning a billion dollars in the lottery or developing magical powers overnight.
