Two links guaranteed to cause instant happiness:
Stamp on the ground!. It's a flash animated music video of video game & webcomic characters doing DDR. Mario Bros. Characters! FF7 characters! Silent Hill Characters! Pokemon! Otacon! Solid Snake! Revolver Ocelot! Playing Dance Dance Revolution! You know you want to click the link. (warning: cuteness overload may cause incoherent squealing)
I was Kidnapped by Lesbian Pirates from Outer Space!!. A web comic about exactly what it says on the tin, where a naive 1960s secretary is kidnapped by lesbian pirates from outer space. OMG, the art! It looks like a 1950s pulp comic! The lesbian space pirates have antennae! The awesome is such that it can only be communicated by speaking like your dialogue was written by Stan Lee!

I kind of want there to be a Metal Gear Solid 6 or something that's all about grown up Sunny as some kind of badass Black Widow-like character. She's a hacker who can kill people with her bare hands and many, many guns, because both her Dads have taught her their special obsessive skill sets.

...it works so far.

Throw a little Clint Eastwood/Kurt Russell in Escape From New York in there and imagine him speaking in a gruff, monotone voice, and make sure you're envisioning early seasons Floppy!Daniel, and you're not actually that far off.
You can watch clips of the little movie segments from the games on youtube, such as the one where the two of them have a heartfelt and painfully earnest discussion about their hopes and dreams for the future and then ride off into the glowing aurora borealis together on the back of a snowmobile.
Sadly, good fic for video games often seems to be hard to find in quantity, but I've just started looking and MGS's been around for about a decade, so it's bound to have more fic than, say, Assassin's Creed II (I don't actually play the game, since I own no video game equipment and my total knowledge of all such things comes from the internet and from watching other people play video games a lot when I was in college, but AC2 is about an assassin in Renaissance Italy who seems to be basically Leonardo da Vinci's boyfriend. I have searched for good da Vinci/assassin boyfriend fic that's over 2000 words mostly in vain, but I persist, because it's historical crack RPS starring Leonardo da Vinci).

Alas for lack of AC2 fic! I have seen stuff about that game around the internets and it seems like it ought to have fic! (Of course, there is far less MGS than there ought to be, unless there's a trove I've failed to find. I guess any video game that isn't basically an anime just doesn't get the right sort of fandom. V. v. sad.)

But over all, I'm disappointed by the lack of ficcy goodness. It doesn't seem to get much fic despite being such a popular videogame franchise.

I'm working through delicious tags - have you found Heartrate on the lj community yet? It's reasonably long, well-written, and has nanites-as-sex-toy. :D

OMG, does it feature the codecs being used as some kind of cut-rate substitute for telepathic soulbond sex? *rushes off to read*
