Speaking of that WiP meme that's been going around.

We only have one WiP at the moment, so here's several paragraphs from it:

Loki & Don Blake beneath the cut )

We should probably be finished with it some time around, oh, July?

And since presenting a single fic snippet isn't really in the spirit of the meme, recs for my top three favorite fics not from cap-ironman (because I'm assuming a lot of my flist has seen everything on the comm) that are currently WiP:

Between the Brushstrokes, by Etherati (http://etherati.livejournal.com/tag/slash). Okay, you have to go searching back through her journal for all fifteen parts of it, but it's *worth it* people. I've recced Etherati's Z!verse before (that would be the zombie!Rorschach fic I've flailed about both here and on sequentialcrack), and BtB is every bit as good. If there was ever a fandom for the dystopic future AU fic, Watchmen is that fandom. And this is that fic. It's up there with quietprofanity's The Gilded Cage on my mental list of most awesome Watchmen fics that go AU from the GN's ending. (Gilded Cage, just FYI for those of you who haven't read it, is not a happy fic. BtB is, or at least, it's happy by Watchmen standards).

Embers.
Wonderful Zuko and Iroh-centric A:tLA AU that branches off partway through season two. Some of the worldbuilding details about firebending and how fire nation loyalties work are now part of my personal headcanon. This fic is literally novel-length, clocking in at over 400 pages in MS word thus far *loves*

The Captive Prince
Awesome original slash fic with vividly detailed worldbuidling and nicely twisty political plot. In most authors' hands, I'd call this a guilty pleasure (seeing as it contains copious amounts of pretty clothing and boys in chains), but freece is such a good writer that I'll subtract the adjective and just call it a pleasure.
