So, my New Years Resolution of trying to review one Steve/Tony fic on cap_ironman a week has, um, pretty obviously not been lived up to. I need to start making myself read and review more, because I've practically turned myself into a lurker within my own primary fandom over the past year or so, with my my form of participation being just writing fic. And when said fic is like our current epic-in-progress and it takes us months before it's postable... complete and utter lurkerdom.
Especially since my pathological Fraction aversion means that I can't participate in comics discusson either. I keep waiting for him to be pulled off any title remotely connected to Tony and replaced by someone else, anyone else, preferably someone who will retcon out the idiotic Pepper-with-an-arc-reactor thing, but it keeps not happening. And they keep leaving Larocca on the title, too, despite his apparent near-complete loss of anything resembling the ability to draw. (sorry, [/rant])
Maybe when Siege is over, and we know who is right, and who is dead, and I can pick up the Clint, Hank, Luke, Bobbi & Natasha, and a Gorilla limited run. They've got to replace Fraction eventually, right? Right? Even teenage!WTF!Tony and Armor Wars II and that stupid non-Jocasta AI girl Friday didn't last forever. And the fact that teenage!WTF!Tony's been totally ignored ever since as if it never happened ought to give me hope.
In the meantime, Avatar: TLA fandom is a cornucopia of delicious Terribly Misjudged fic. If only so many of the long Zuko-centric fics weren't Zuko/Katara, the pairing that totally fails to possess any chemistry for me thus far in my watching of assorted season two and three episodes. There's always Embers, though. I've decided that it's the platonic ideal "real" version of canon (aka the version with significantly increased Zuko and Iroh content), much the way The Oncoming Storm is the real version of Torchwood. Luckily, my lack of ability at writing teenagers all that well prevents it from being a writing distraction, no matter how shiny the idea of a "What if Toph were the Avatar instead of Aang" verse is (he'd still be the last airbender, the only person who can teach Toph to master airbending so that she can save the world, but she'd be the Avatar and it would be all about her. And General Iroh & Zuko. And Sokka/Suki and Azula being disturbingly, ohGodwhyshe'sjailbait hot, but canon itself seems to be composed in no small part of "ohGodwhyisAzulasohotshe'sfourteenohgodwhy").
Also: there are people who didn't realize all the characters in this show are Asian? How?
