Zombie recs

It's too late for Easter, but I thought I would pass a couple of recs along anyway, in honor of our zombie lord.

Is there anyone out there who hasn't seen this hilarious Firefly fic yet? If you haven't you need to.

Mistakes by sevlow. (FMA)
Ed gets killed. Roy uses human transmutation to bring him back from the dead, and accidentally resurrects a hell of a lot more than just Ed. Sevlow writes pure guilty pleasure Roy torture and h/c, and htis fic is no exception. It's also got some lovely creepy and disgusting moments, like any good zombie story should.

And now the main reason for the recs set. You know how teenage Twilight fans have been sighing about how Edward could totally snap and eat Bella at any time and yet she sleeps in his arms because she loves him *that much* and it's OMG, so romantic? And how we all make fun of them? I have finally and belatedly possibly realized where they're coming from, and this is the flesh-eating zombie fic that made me see it.

Plus, it prompted the following exchange last night, during which I was ordered to rec it:

Me: *snuggles* "See, if only one of us were a zombie, this would be romantic."
seanchai: *laughs* "You have to rec that fic now. It needs to be shared with the internet."

Watchmen-verse is probably one of very, very few source canons where a zombie apocalypse actually *improves* things. I suspect it says something about both Watchmen and Alan Moore that this is so.

I expected this fic to be crack, or pure horror along the lines of sevlow's fic, but it's something entirely different, haunting and atmospheric and full of a tight-stretched tension that won't let you stop reading (I swear there's a happy ending, though. Really. Well, a happy ending compared to the comic & movie, at least).
