I present you with a staggering work of epic and heart-rending Steve/Tony genius, courtesy of the Drabble-Matic.
The Adventure Of The Robot
Tony and Cap were out for an azure Valentine's walk in the Avenger's Mansion. As they went, Cap rested his hand on Tony's arm. It was the most romantic walk ever. But even though the day was so brilliant, Tony was filled with manly dread.
"Do you suppose it's dangerous here?" he asked longingly.
"You wealthy silly," Cap said, tickling Tony with his shield. "It's completely patriotic."
Just then, an iron robot leapt out from behind a curtain and punched Cap in the face. "Aaargh!" Cap screamed.
Things looked tragic. But Tony, although he was depressed, knew he had to save his love. He grabbed his armor and, like a lion defending her wounded cub, beat the robot passionately until it ran off. "That will teach you to punch innocent people."
Then he clasped Cap close. Cap was bleeding noblely. "My darling," Tony said, and pressed his lips to Cap's heart.
"I love you," Cap said desperately, and expired in Tony's arms.
Tony never loved again.
Oddly, even though it was created by randomly plugging the nouns and adjectives I suggested into a computer-generated form, it bears a strange resemblance to canon. Especially the last bit.
