Why can't *I* afford to buy my own Military Fighter Jet?

I gave blood Monday, and, for the first time in my entire life, I don’t have a bruise the size of a silver dollar on the inside of my arm. I should have gotten the name of the woman who did the needle insertion, so that I could ask for her every time I need to get an IV line put in from now through eternity.

And damn. I wish I had two million dollars worth of disposable income to buy myself a Harrier (as in, British fighter plane, as in, a guy out at the airport just acquired the only civilian owned Harrier jump jet in the US). Alas, I do not, and my own disposable income just barely stretches to cover buying season one of the Justice League cartoon on DVD.

When you stand there in the dvd section of Target demanding to know what is wrong with a store that carries the old Super Friends cartoon but not the Justice League one, when everyone knows that the JLA cartoon is a superior product, there is probably something wrong with you. The same rule applies if you’re standing in the Best Buy dvd section demanding to know why they have every season of Dukes of Hazard but no Starsky & Hutch and only season nine of MASH. *
