In the past two weeks or so since I last updated, I have:

1) Discovered that yes, I do indeed have mono.

2) Run a deeply mediocre time in my first x-country meet (I blame it on the hills. I was born and raised at sea level and can tell you that hills are the devil).

3) Met with my three thesis advisors (for my two theses) numerous times.

4) Written about 2000 words (one chapter) more of my English thesis.

5) Spent quality time screaming profanity at my computer screen as the Hollins server and/or printers crash again (they've been doing this for two weeks, which is why I've been offline for two weeks).

6) Gone to see Pterry!!!!! This past weekend I cut my second cross country meet to go to Alexandria with some of the girls from the Anime hall (they are all fangirls, like me, and so we understand one another) to hear Terry Pratchett speak and go to a book signing. It was so cool! He's nearly as funny a speaker as he is a writer (which isn't always the case), and he signed my copy of Guards! Guards! (even though it was paperback--I felt a bit guilty about taking paperbacks to be signed, but I never buy in hardback because they're too expensive). And wasn't he phased at all when Kiki (fellow Hollins anime fangirl) turned to me after getting her book signed and said (loudly enough to be overheard) "Aren't you glad I didn't ask him to sign my boob?" (Something she'd been threatening to do all the time we waited in line). Apparently, some guy once asked him to sign his arm at a book signing, then went out and got the signature tattooed on. (Damn, that's true fannish devotion).

In conclusion, Terry Pratchett rocks and the Hollins University Computer Services Department is a giant black hole of suck.
