Term paper number four, on Girolamo Savonarola and his similarities to Martin Luther (but lack of success at lasting reform thanks to Italian and Florentine politics) is thankfully complete and turned in. Now, I only have a final essay and an exam (oh yeah, and a creative writing portfolio). I can have a life again (by which, of course, I mean waste time on the internet).

Still sick, of course. I've given up on ever having lungs that function properly again. I'm gonna haul my black duster out of the closet, learn to deal from the bottom of the deck, and take up target shooting. If I can find a hot Hungarian girfriend to dangle off one arm and a cute lawman to develope a soul-devouring crush on, I'll be all set. That said, being rendered incapable of sleep because of coughing/asthma attacks means you can work on papers about Renaissance monks all night long. Plus, now that I have my five different kinds of prescription medication, things are a bit better--and after three days of virtual sleeplessness followed by the Hollins History Department party, I finally managed to just crash and get in a decent seven hours sleep last night. The History parties are legendary for a reason. I swear everybody in that room (professors, over-21 students, under-aged students, students' boyfriends, random people) was drunk except me--and and since I was insanely sleep deprived and on five different kinds of prescription drugs (hence not drinking), I didn't need alcohol. Plus, there was massive amounts of dancing, as always.
