*bounces excitedly* Thanks to the dire lack of writers to cover vintage dirt track events, I've been asked to go to Bike Week in Daytona to write articles on the AHRMA flat track racing (which is actually in Georgia, not Daytona, but motorcycle races have no problem driving a couple of hours to get to multiple races in one weekend.
Sadly, the engine mount on the Piper Arrow has a crack in it, so my Dad and I are driving from Roanoke to Daytona, but twelve hours in a truck is worth it with Florida at the end of it. It will be warm there. Warm. *basks in anticipated warmth*
This does mean that I'm gping to miss SheVaCon, Roanoke Valley's annual sci-fi fantasy con (which is a shame, since I was loking forward to hearing the rep. from Baen books speak), but the Roanoke Holiday Inn battled with Daytona Beach and the prospect of publication and lost.
