Today the 40 of us in my Irish lit. class watched Neil Jordan's Michael Collins (why movies in a lit. class? It's the "representations of Ireland in film" section). Much more fun than The Quiet Man. I could say many things about it, but there's only one comment I have that's truly important: Some one with fewer scrupples than me needs to write slash for this film.

I mean it. I can't do it because it skirts terribly close to being RPS, which I don't write, but please tell me I'm not the only person who spent half the film being assailed by Michael/Harry vibes.

On a non-slash note, everyone should thank whatever powers they believe in that a rival studio's planned version of a similar film staring Kevin Costner never got off the ground. Kevin Costner as Michael Collins would have hurt God.
