Since Merlin is giving me the Arthur and Morgana arcs I want, there's really only one thing other than Merlin/Arthur h/c and Gwen-who-has-inexplicably-become-a-warrior-queen/Morgana femslash that I want from fic.
I want an epic length borderline canon-sue fic where Pellinore doesn’t in fact die when the Black Knight stabs him, but is just really badly injured. After an abbreviated and angsty convalescence, Pellinore, who is plagued with self-doubt after his defeat at the Knight's hands, leave Camelot on a quest to prove himself once again.
He finds a second questing beast (if the unicorn can come back to life, there can totally be more than one questing beast) and pursues it tirelessly, despite being hindered by the fact that his stab wound hasn't totally healed and he keeps setting the complete healing of it back by over-exertion, tearing it open again, etc. Along the way, he meets a slashy knight errant boyfriend who is some other figure from Arthurian legend. The first time they have sex, Pellinor is ashamed to reveal the half-healed scar on his abdomen, which is the mark of his shameful defeat, but Sir Boyfriend licks his way down it toward Pellinor's cock and Heals Him of His Issues with Oral Sex. It is revealed that Pellinore is the son of a British knight and an African queen from the imaginary but anachronistically enlightened kingdom of Zazamanc (rather than being in some amorphous location in Africa/the Middle East like in Parzival, it is an island off the coast of Africa ruled by warrior women descended from The People of Lost Atlantis), and is actually a Muslim, something he kept secret in Camelot because he was never sure whether Uther might decide that it was somehow the same thing a being a sorcerer and arrest him. He angsts about this some, too, because he was brought to England as a small child and doesn't know nearly as much as he'd like to about his mother's people and her/his own religion -- except, of course, for a single prayer she taught him, which totally Gives Him Strength Because It Reminds Him of Her Love on at least one occasion when he's on the verge of death from some terrible injury. He probably has some piece of sparkly jewlery that used to belong to her, too, that will eventually prove his legitimacy when he becomes King of New Atlantis in the final story.
Eventually, realizing that he will never catch the questing beast, he gives up the chase, and the questing beast, sad that he's not chasing it anymore, comes to find him, and lays its head in his lap mournfully. It is dying of angst, because it has stopped eating from its loneliness and woe, and Pellinore, who can Hear It Speaking to Him in His Head because I used to fangirl Anne McCaffery books back in elementary school, nurses it back to health at the same time that he is recovering from having torn the wound the Black Knight gave him open again (while he and Sir Boyfriend saved an village of innocent bystanders from an evil sorcerer or monster or gang of evil knight or something - whatever, the important thing is that they were terribly outnumbered but won anyway through Pellinore's borderline-suicidal bad-assness and then he keeled over from bloodloss). While he heals the questing beast, he finally has enough time to completely heal himself, aided by multiple doses of Sir Boyfriend's cock.
Then Pellinore and Sir Boyfriend and his questing beast telecom will have even more adventures. Sir Boyfriend -- let's call him "Gawain" -- will be falsely accused of murder, and Pellinore will have to save him by proving his innocence, aided by the clever-but-scathing Lady Orgeluse, who despises Gawain but also believe he is innocent because she has reason to suspect another knight of the crime (by the end of the story, she has started to fall for Gawain, but it comes to naught except a bit of love-triangle angst on everyone's part because his love for Pellinore triumphs in the end - Gawain is briefly tempted, though, because thanks to a Terrible Misunderstanding, he initially believes Pellinore has abandoned him). Possibly Pellinore will "power up" at the climax of each subsequent story, in classic Anita Blake-style Sue fashion. His super-bad-ass-I-have-a-telecom powers won't prevent him from getting beat up a lot, though.
The questing beast will be scaly and furry at the same time, with little vestigial wings that don't actually do anything. It will speak to Pellinor telepathically, and call him "Sir," kind of like a much cuddlier version of Loiosh.
The entire fic would be approximately 300,000 words long, and would consist of at least three different story arcs, but would be posted to ff.net as one endless, continuing story with lots and lots of author notes. It would be the unholy bastard spawn of Merlin, T.H. White, Parzival, and a Mercedes Lackey novel, and possibly the most awesome thing ever.
