There's nothing redeeming about anyone in Ultimates, with the possible exception that Ultimate!Fury is hot (which is largely negated by the fact that then you realize you're lusting after Nick Fury). And then people read it and think these are the way the characters actually are/ are equally valid characterizations. And I have to have the "Hank Pym is not evil, bipolar != evil" discussion again.
