Clearly it's time for Tony Stark to pool his resources with Professor X! Professor X has waaaay more street cred, I bet some of the children he took in were orphans. They need to put together a commercial much like those Christian Children's Fund ones, but featuring mutant children.
Considering how the general public feels about mutants most of the time, it would probably just end up backfiring. I can see the headlines now: "Stark provides financial backing to controvercial Mutant Activist" (New York Times) "Is Xavier using Tony Stark's money to fund his own private paramilitary organization?" (Washington Post) "Mutant Radical using Stark's Cash to Turn Children into Superpowered Terrorists?" (New York Post/Daily Bugle)
