It just feels weird to get comics on Thursday.

I have one main reaction to this month's X-Men, and that's "Yay! I knew it! Cable isn't dead!" My reaction to Sensational Spiderman is eyerolls and irritation, even though I had a feeling some sort of "swaping his relationship with MJ for Aunt May's life" reality-altering deal was going to be involved, it's still stupid. So, while I cheer for [livejournal.com profile] likeadeuce (because Cable! Not Dead! Ha!), I know how upset those on my flist whose first fannish love is Spidey and MJ are going to be. I suggest en mass fannish denial.

Marvel Adventures Iron Man featured Doom kidnapping Rhodey and Pepper and holding them hostage to try and force Tony so give him an "anti-cosmic ray" device (so he could use it on the Fantastic Four), and Tony trying to rescue them in stealth armor and getting caught, then blackmailing Doom into letting them go anyway. It was adorable, and Doom was gloriously over the top (and there were Doombots). There were also numerous panels of Tony in a tanktop and welding apron, working on his armor.

Daredevil was mostly plot advancing (no big action this time), but I'm really enjoying this arc over all, with the noir-style underworld manueverings as people try to fill the power vacuum left by the Kingpin, and all of the lawyer-type-stuff surrounding the Foggy and Milla plotline. DD somehow feels more gritty and "real world," for lack of a better term, than the Avengers-related titles, despite the cross-over element of having the Hood show up. Also, the Wrecker cameoed, as did Ox, MOntana, and Fancy Dan (yay for B-list supervillain teams!).
