I know it's taken us forever to get around to answering them, but thanks so much for these reviews! It's always wonderful to have some thoughtful comments/analysis along with the squee (though squee alone is awesome, too).
Also, the way the interplay between Steve, Bucky and Sharon played out gave a newbie reader so much insight into the history behind these characters. I haven't read a Marvel Comic or Civil War in 20 years but I found you incorporated everything I needed to know contextually. Really, you deserve big ups for that feat alone. Almost no one has that type of attention to detail in a slash comics story.
OMG, we read so much backcanon for this (actually, we would have read all of it anyway, since that was right around the time we were working our way through Tales of Suspense and Volume three Captain America and Avengers), so it's really awesome to know it paid off.
We knew we were going to be throwing around a lot of characters that not everyone had read the canon on (since we had people from Captain America, Spiderman, Avngers, New Avengers, Iron Man, Immortal Iron Fist, etc.) so we wanted to make sure we didn't leave people totally confused about who the heck character X was and why they were there. There wasn't much we could do about Bendis's eternally confusing decision to stick two Jessicas in New Avengers, though.
