If you can't get the school to put a stop to this, I suggest that one person buy the syllabus and copy it for everyone. You can all share the extortion cost.
Yeah, you'll each still have to buy the textbook, but it would probably cost $50 at the bookstore anyhow. (Unless you can find the book at another source? If so, buy it there.)
