Where in South Carolina? (and are you with your dad, or at college there?).
As for driving... you have my sympathies. I swear, every time I get off the beltway with the car intact, I cross myself. I hate driving around DC. However, I imagine the traffic is less insane in SC, so good luck ^_^.
