For my birthday, my family gave me... a bed. Seriously, my birthday present this year was a mattress and boxsprings (which cost slightly less than my textbooks. Seriously. $300 worth of books for one history class alone).

I'm now moved in to my new appartment in College Park, temporarily carless, but at least the college campus is within easy walking distance.

Classes start on the 29th, so perhaps i can get caught up on some fandom stuff until then (well, that and finish writing those two motorcycle articles).

WIPs include:
One Authority fic
one Magnificent Seven fic
one long Lonesome Dove fic
that Bond/Felix Leiter/Honey Rider threesome fic that refuses to turn into a sex scene
the sketchy start of Jazzverse, currently consisting of one scene between Lex and the Ultra-Humanite, and the beginnings of an outline. I am debating whether to involve multiple JLA members, or keep it just a Batman/Superman thing.

Text books are ridiculously expensive - when I was at Bennington, I'd regularly end up spending $400 a semester.

It's nice that you have a bit of a break before you have to start classes, since that'll give you time to get settled in there.

You know, it occurs to me that a truely impressive amout of what you're writing is really obscure, which is nifty.

*nods* It's the bookverse Bond fic that really earns me the obscure award, I bet. All the Bond fic I've seen on the web seems to be movieverse, post-Goldeneye.

Of course, Sean Bean was in Goldeneye, which is practically a mandate from God to slash it, so I'm not surprised it dominates the fic.

Book!Bond fic? With Felix? Who is one of the the bets characters in all of Bond? Man, I knew the internet had wonderful things in it.

Felix can drive a manual transmission sportscar with one hand. Through New York city. He is god.

Also, the book version of Diamonds are Forever is just one extended buddycop act starring Bond and Felix.

Bond: I'm in America on a mission. Want to come along?
Felix: It has absolutely nothing to do with what I'm supposed to be doing, and could in fact cost me my job. Sure!
Bond: Right. We're going to Vegas.
Felix: Oooh! Vegas!

The Book!Bond wip has stalled out at about fifteen pages, after everybody's Issues hijacked the pr0n that was supposed to happen. For some reason, I simply cannot get them to have sex, despite the fact that Bond is cannonically the easiest secret agent ever. I blame it on Felix's ingrained sense of decency.
