The millions of tiny dramas implied by facebook relationship statuses
I really liked this poem, found via desperately searching through the tumblr "meta" tag for something vaguely fandom-discussion related, especially the clever final stanza. Here's my not-as-good (because I suck at free veerse andam only good at iambic pentameter) response poem:
My sister is 'married' to her best friend on facebook
even though she has a boyfriend
and so does her (female) BFF.
It's a joke.
Haha.
Because of course they're not married.
Get it?
I didn't tell my family when I got engaged.
Seven years, two cats, and a mortgage
later, I'm still listed as
"It's complicated."
(But even though no one wants to read emo LJ poetry, the poem linked above is still, I swear, worth checking out.)
