I drove to DC and back. Twice. And neither I nor the car is dead!

Ah, yay, this weekend was fun. pixyofthestyx came down from New York and we watched the entire first season of Gargoyles (plus a handful of second season episodes she downloaded onto her laptop), three different Sharpe movies, and she pimped me into Foyle’s War. In repayment, I tried my best to pimp her into Ian Flemming’s Bond books (and Bond/Felix) and cheesy 1970s pulp fantasy. She also got to hear me shriek profanity at DC drivers like a crazed harpy while we tried to navigate around closed streets and people who park their SUVs in the middle of traffic lanes. And I dragged her to the Patuxant River T&E museum, to show off how cute old military fighter jets are (especially A-6s, which have those adorable little nose snorkels refueling probes. And droopy wings that make them look sad).

It was so much fun to be able to watch something with a fellow fangirl again—and to talk to someone about fannish stuff period. Also, Gargoyles is just as much fun as it was when I was eleven, and I still love Xanatos to itty-bitty bits and want Goliath and Elisa to have cute half-human spawnbabies together. Mary Sue spawnbabies with the giant bat wings of one parent and the skin-tone of the other.

Oh God- you're right. They would be evil-Mary Sue babies with the wings of one parent the skin tone of the other. But to balance it out, they'd probably also be deeply melodramatic.

*grins* In my case, he shares "first animated crush" billing with Elisa Maza and with Gambit from the old X-Men cartoon, but I know what you mean ^_^. There's just something about his utterly gleeful amorality that's endearing (I think what sold me on Xanatos was the episode where he and Demona create the gargoyle/cyborg creature, and he lets out a whoop of maniacal laughter and hollers, "It's alive!" and then adds cheerfully, "I've always wanted to say that!"). He has so much fun being an evil corporate overlord.
