The "buying jelly jars to use as glasses" thing gets me particularly because we actually did repurpose Ball and mason jars as glasses when I was a kid. Because my mom makes jelly and jam, there was a continual supply of 8oz. ball jars sitting around ready to be substituted for a water glass whenever there were no clean glasses.

They make really lousy glasses because of the threads around the top, so I can't imagine why you would buy them specifically to drink out of them with no intention of ever using them as jars.
