Reason #2386236 why I'm glad not to be in Stargate fandom

Damn. And I thought we'd had problems with trolls and wank in Steve/Tony fandom.

At least the people who were attacking writers on the hate memes weren't their betas, bashing their fic and mocking them in public posts.

That's unbelievably despicable - it just makes me sick. . .

Oh, that's vile. I find it so hard to believe that fandom can be so fucking rude. (It's naive of me, really, but my first instinct is to assume that we're all going to get along.)

Eeep!

Yeah, just... yeah. I mean, no lie, I've beta'd stuff that made me almost tear my hair out, but to have such things on my LJ for all to see? Eeep.

It's the fact that the beta's comments (now hidden by comment disabling but originally public for all to see) weren't made under some form of flock that really astounds me. I also don't really see what in the writer's "my writing has so many issues that fixing it is more work than I want to do, so I'm withdrawing from [x writing project thingy]" post constitutes insulting/calling out/accusing the beta of anything, or why it apparently made her so angry, but if she'd kept her ranting about it under flock instead of out where everyone including the writer could see it... Yeah.
