If I had any real belief that these fascinating ideas would be explored in the comic, I would read it in a second. But, alas, I know that it's certain to be mostly Thor punching powerful bad guys in the face.
If you can forgive him his role in Civil War, Straczynski's actually been doing an awesome job on the title recently - lots of Norse mythology stuff and Asgardian politics, and at least a little identity pr0n with Don Blake (also, Loki has been canonically genderswapped). The first twelve issues or so, before Secret Invasion oozes over and infects the title, are really fun, provided you skip the one where Steve's ghost shows up (that one's probably the most depressing thing I've ever read in my life, and I've read Russian novels).
