There's such a lovely feeling of solidity to these vignettes. He doesn't get many laugh-out-loud punchlines, but in the earliest Tales of Suspense stuff (which is mainly where I know Thor/Don from, since I'm a slow, slow comics reader), Don Blake is a soothing presence, and you really capture that here. I love how you explain how he got that way in 5, and I love the sense in the first six that you give of a normal kid with a lot of decency and a little hint of special.

Of course, there's also those few but awesome laugh out loud moments. My favorite is definitely "Fandral, Volstag, and Hogun had the collective maturity level of a trio of nineteen-year-old fraternity brothers, and compared to them, anyone seemed grown up."

I'm ridiculously happy you got carried away on those last, because in the two-hundred-something reveal scene, you totally got the sense that Tony and Don knew about each other already and had kind of bonded over it, and 11 makes perfect sense with that. And 10 is my favorite, because your Foggy and Matt are amazing, and it makes total sense that Foggy would go running to Don (see: soothing), and Matt's reaction is so absolutely, perfectly fitting for what would have happened were he a young, vulnerable non-quite-superhero at the time of 9/11. I think my favorite line in this whole thing was "'Foggy,' he asked plaintively, 'why can I still hear them?'" (But only think, because there are so many awesome Don lines in here that I'll change my mind minutes after hitting the "post" button.)

I love your Steve/Tony muchly, but it's the way you can hit all of the other characters so note-perfect that makes me keep your stuff squirreled away on my computer for frequent and repeated rereads.

And with that mildly excessive feedback, I'm going to bed.
