I had a slightly funny relationship with the Little Mermaid, in that I totally fell in love with the story, and expressed my love by immediately constructing and elaborate AU narrative in which the Little Mermaid didn't want any stupid Prince or stupid legs, she wanted to stay in the ocean forever. Because what could possibly be better than living in the ocean?
