I've seen this one, and yeah, it really does give you some insite into Bruce's particular brand of screwed up, and why, even thirty years later, he still can't move past it (actually, that scene gets repeated a lot in Batman canon, much the way shots of Steve-in-the-ice tend to get repeated). Some elements of various versions of the "Thomas and Martha Wayne are gunned down" scene are so classic now that I've seen them spoofed in other media (like Martha's pearls breaking and scattering on the sidewalk).
One part I really love is that the movie they were supposed to be returning from (in some versions, anyway, in some others, I know, it's supposed to be the opera or some other performance) is the old Douglas Fairbanks version of Zorro. Who also fights crime in a black cape and mask, with an animal-themed name.
