I love crossovers where the characters don't suddenly (and usually inexplicably) become close confidants and learn each other's secrets. I also love it when there's at least a touch of the 'unreliable narrator,' where the significance of lines like "Lucius prefers to remain as unaware of when and how I play as possible," Wayne drawled, placing the faintest stress on the word 'play,' is easily spotted by the reader, but lost on the narrator.

I don't think Batman is likely to suddenly become anybody's close confidant this side of ever. *grins* Tony just thinks Bruce is talking about his sex life -- which he is, of course. It's just that his sex life sometimes involves making out with Catwoman on rooftops while they're both in costume.

Also, the closing line, He owed Bruce one, lying bastard or not, is so very neat.

Thanks! I'm glad that one worked out -- it was kind of a last minute addition as I struggled to think of a closing line that would wrap the whole thing up.
