Classic-verse 1.2
Title: Classic-verse 1.2
Authors:
seanchai and
elspethdixon
Pairings: Hank/Jan.
Rated: PG
Warnings: ... Fluff?
Disclaimer: The characters and situations depicted herein belong to Stan Lee and Marvel comics. No profit is being made off of this derivative work. We're paid in love, people.
Author's Note: AU conceived as a modern retelling of early Avengers. Of course, there are about six seasons planned, so it won't end up mirroring canon completely.
Summary: Sequel to Classic-verse 1.1. Hank and Jan's attempt at a date is less than successful.

Actually, I was referring to how they'd deal with the SHRA that Stone had introduced, and how neither of them had verbally acknowledged the causes of the miscommunication (though they each seem to have thoughts on the subject), and how Tony is still quite emotionally fragile. They need to deal with all that before they can get to a stable, functional relationship.
Which is really what I mean by a 'happy ending': a point where they both know how much they mean to each other and are comfortable in the relationship. When there are no doubts about being worth the other's time. Whether/when they go to bed together isn't as important as giving them that emotional security, to me. (You can tell I've been in the mood for happy!couples!fic all week, can't you?)
In my mind, Steve and Tony will get there in that world, someday. It just wasn't within the scope of your fic. The situation is resolved as much as it realistically could be at that point, considering the characters (because realism can totally exist side by side with hate rays and magical crowbars and internet-as-a-projectile-weapon.) And it worked beautifully.
