There was crying (actually, I think "sobbing" or "weeping like a Victorian novel character" would be more accurate), and one character clinging to another character's shirt, and statements that life was not worth living without said character. And references to one character carrying the other out of a burning building (which is much more emo than it sounds, if you've seen scans of that issue of the comic--the cover looks like "Gone With the Wind").
